A far cry from the warehouses and clubs of Europe, Pan-pot took to the New York Harbor for a boat party kicking off Memorial Day Weekend. It wasn’t exactly the best weather for a cruise down the Hudson, but the rain only made the techno better. Upon boarding our vessel, the signature sound of Pan-pot could already be heard from the sound system. Pan-pot played on the ship’s indoor deck due to the wet weather but it certainly made for an intimate session with the German duo. The event would go on, rain or shine, and nothing would keep New Yorkers away, as the ship continued to board right up to the departure time. Yes, it would be a 3-hour cruise but it would be three hours of some of the best techno and house, all with the lights of New York City behind us.
The boat didn’t come with too many bells and whistles, and quite frankly you don’t attend these parties for an amazing light show or a life-changing sound system. Again, these parties offer an intimate session with some of the best DJs. Pan-pot brought their best game playing an energetic set satisfying both techno and house enthusiasts with perfect ease. This party had zero pretension with a great crowd, atmosphere, and perfect setting minus a little rain. Pan-pot stopped in New York, partnering with Nervous Records, before an appearance at Stereo Nightclub in Montreal tonight and of course Detroit tomorrow for Movement. These boys have a busy schedule but we’ll be lucky to have them back in support of Carl Cox for Intec Island as part of RPM Presents’ summer schedule at the new Governors Club.
