Sound 035 – Behrouz

Every once in a while there comes a DJ with such a unique craftmanship that it can only be considered art. Behrouz is definitely one of those DJs. If you’ve ever heard Behrouz play then you can understand what we mean by art. Behrouz has such an ability to blend both deep house and techno together, both classical instrumentation with a house beat, to create an unforgettable journey. Behrouz grew up in San Francisco at a time when San Francisco was the destination for house music. He earned residency at two separate venues there and quickly caught the attention of Deep Dish who consisted of none other than Dubfire and Sharam. Behrouz would be signed to Yoshitoshi and have a hugely successful run as a producer topping all the charts including Billboard’s Dance chart with the single “Safe From Harm.”

Behrouz never disappoints and always surprises with his artful productions. This mix created for the iii Points Festival in Miami 2016 is, simply put, a work of art. This mix offers such smooth listening but still sounds new and exciting with every listen. The iii Points Music, Art, and Technology Festival in Miami is a fully-immersive festival consisting of a completely curated lineup of both international and local artists. There are also lectures, labs, tech talks, and of course music and gallery showcases. Want to avoid the March Madness in Miami, then check out iii Points online for lineup and ticket information. Behrouz will play in Brooklyn this Sunday, July 9th at Output with M.A.N.D.Y. and Elon for Sundays on the Roof. If you’re in the New York area, definitely put this one on your calendar and discover Behrouz.
