Sound 061 – Vril (Live)

Printworks is one of the most exciting new venues to come on the scene this year. It’s a groundbreaking new event space changing the face of London’s club scene. Issue 002 featured a lineup of Maceo Plex, Rødhåd, Mind Against, and many others including an IMG_4194exciting DJ by the name of Vril. If you take a look at Vril’s calendar you’ll most likely catch him at Berghain or Panorama Bar, or perhaps at Barcelona’s Razzmatazz to even Cologne’s Musikbunker. Hailing from Germany he is no stranger to techno. He has even played a respectable number of events here in the U.S. including events for The Bunker and Blkmarket Membership here in New York. Vril has become known for his live sets which propelled him to a place where Marcel Dettman was eagerly including Vril on his “Conducted” release, and is now signed to Rødhåd’s Dystopian label. He is in the company of great techno legends but it’s Vril’s non-stop energy and captivating sounds that make Vril so exciting. While his music is sonically quite raw and industrial it is quite composed just as you’d expect from any live performer, whether it be classical music or techno. IMG_4193

Vril is set to embark on a U.S. tour with stops scheduled in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. in January but not before closing out his year at 909, an all-night technofest at Mediahaven, Amsterdam with a stacked lineup including Jeff Mills, Rødhåd, Kevin Saunderson, Marcel Fengler, Secret Cinema, and many others. Here’s hoping more dates are added to his U.S. tour and we see a stop here in New York. Of all the DJs performing at Printwork’s Issue 002 on October 7, Vril was the standout DJ and quite honestly our favorite. Not that it needs to be said, but be sure to add Vril to your list of must-hear DJs and catch him anytime he makes a stop in your city. Take a listen to Vril (Live) from London at Printworks Opening Party Issue 002 below!!

  1. You really make it seem so easy together with your presentation however I find this matter to be really something that I think I would by no means understand. It kind of feels too complex and very extensive for me. I’m taking a look ahead to your subsequent post, I will attempt to get the dangle of it!

  2. Valuable info. Fortunate me I discovered your web site by accident, and I’m shocked why this accident didn’t happened earlier! I bookmarked it.
